Churchill, Bruce W.

I was able to hear last evening’s (March 27 AK time) transmission starting at 0805 UTC and continuing until 0856 UTC – there were two gaps in the MP3 file in that time frame to switch or retune receivers (3 min and 2 min at 0830 and 0848 respectively). I used the Internet to connect to two remote receivers: both are KiwiSDRs. The first is the Maritime Radio Historical Society site KPH located at Pt. Reyes CA (just north of San Francisco) and the second is located in Warrenton VA and operated by KW4VA. The receiver screenshots are attached and annotated with frequency, date, capture time to the second and receiver site.

KPH http://198.40.45.23:8073 (3-30 MHz) Antenna: TCI-530
Point Reyes, CA | Grid: CM88mc, ASL: 10m
KW4VA http://kiwisdr.k1ra.us:8073/ Antenna: ZS6BKW dipole @ 45ft + 400ft loop @ 60ft + 350ft long wire
Warrenton, VA | Grid: FM18cr, ASL: 150m

Here is my monitoring schedule (generally the receivers were set at AM Narrow mode with an occasional jump to AM):

KPH site 2.82 MHz at 0805 (screenshot at 0809:26) Movements I, II, III (morse, music)
KPH site 3.35 MHz at 0810 (screenshot at 0812:57) Movement III (morse, music) – better than 2.82 MHz; Movement IV (tones)
KPH site 2.82 MHz at 0815 (screenshot at 0816:26) Movement IV – better than 3.35 MHz for this, Movement V (wolves)
KPH site 3.35 MHz at 0819 (screenshot at 0823:58) Movement V – no change in signal from 2.82 MHz (checked KW4VA at 0820-21 but no signal), Movement VI
Gap from 0830 to 0833 while switching receivers to KW4VA (shows as 3 sec gap in MP3 file)
KW4VA site 3.15 at 0833 Movement VII
KW4VA site 2.82 at 0834 Movement VII – slight improvement from 3.15 MHz
KW4VA site 3.15 at 0838 (screenshot at 0838:39 – FFT waterfall only), Movement VII, Movement VIII
KW4VA site 6.90 at 0846 Movement IX – very weak but audible
Gap from 0848 to 0850 while retuning KW4VA receiver (shows as 3 sec gap in MP3 file)
KW4VA site 6.90 at 0650 (screenshot at 0854:35) – Movement IX, still weak but audible - better after switching to AM Narrow at 0850.5
0656 ceased recording

A link to the MP3 file is here: [link] . This is a direct link and the file can be previewed and/or downloaded. This recording includes the entire monitoring sequence described above. You will see the two gaps showing up as 3 sec gaps in the recording at 25 min and 40 min into the recording.

I recorded the last HAARP test a couple of years ago and a similar test from the Arecibo Puerto Rico site some months later but this one was much more interesting – your artistry is amazing and I remember well your “Requiem for a Radio” on the Sackville transmitter site at last year’s SWL Fest in PA. That was an amazing piece of work! Thanks for doing this with HAARP and I hope you benefit from the test in many ways!

This was a test of wakefulness – maybe tonight will be a little easier! ?

Best regards and keep on keepin’ on!
