Rowlett, Curt / W9SPY

My apologies for the somewhat sloppy recording. The entire transmission was on a schedule that included multiple frequency changes at specific times and I kind of flubbed it a little (I had a cat sitting on my lap, and at one point, I even took a telephone call, all while trying to manipulate the KiwiSDR). And I missed the first few minutes! Several SSTV files were sent, along with both a "numbers" and a phonetic alphabet transmission.

The transmission schedule was as follows:

3200 kHz in AM mode at 0200 UTC
3350 kHz in AM mode at 0211:30 UTC
4400 kHz in AM mode at 0233 UTC
5100 kHz in AM mode at 0246 UTC
Back to 3200 kHz in AM mode at 0256:30 UTC

More information here: https://www.ghostsintheairglow.space/...

In the transmission, a female voice reads out a series of letters using the phonetic alphabet (starts at 31:01 in the recording). The best translation I could transcribe, due to the amount of static in my recording was this: "My grandfather found a thing in the woods ____ with camera hanging from a parachute. It came from the CIA. The DND took it away." That jogged my memory about an article that I had read a couple of years ago, titled, "The Thing In The Woods," concerning a white box with cameras attached to a parachute that was found in the woods in the Lutes Mountain, west of Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada.
