Churchill, Bruce W.

I was able to hear last evening’s (March 28 AK time) transmission starting at 0610 UTC and continuing until 0655 UTC – there was one gap in the MP3 file in that time frame to retune receivers (2 min at 0639 to 0641 UTC). As with my March 27 reception, I used the Internet to connect to a KiwiSDR remote receiver in Bay of Islands, New Zealand. Eight receiver screenshots are attached and annotated with frequency, date, capture time to the second and receiver site.

Bay of Islands NZ | Grid: 35017’11”S 174007’09”E, ASL: 70m

Here is my monitoring schedule (the receiver was set at AM Narrow mode and all waterfalls are FFT mode):

2750 KHz at 0610 Movement III (morse),
3350 KHz at 0611.5 (screenshot at 0615:45) Movement IV (tones) – better
signal at 0613
2750 KHz at 0617 (screenshot at 0618:42) Movement V (Wolves) – 2750 was
weaker than 3350
3350 KHz at 0622.5 (screenshots at 0623:38 and 0632:16) Movement VI (SSTV)
– much better signal at 0624.5. Recorded 4 SSTV images with faint imagery
(first 3 attached here).
2750 KHz at 0633 (screenshot at 0637:54) Movement VII (NATO alphabet
repeated on West array w/ some weak music in background) – better than
previous 2750 segments
Gap from 0639 to 0641 while retuning NZRDXL1 receiver (shows as 3 sec gap
in MP3 file)
2750 KHz at 0641 (Screenshots at 0641:56 and 0644:25) – Movement VIII
(continuation of NATO alphabet to 0642.5, then carrier only then SSTV at
0643.5) – much better reception on 2750 for this segment
5100 at 0646 (Screenshot at 0647:06) Movement IX (SSTV with unidentified
noises or speech in background – was this narration from the East array?).
Recorded 4 SSTV images with very faint imagery. Reception on 5100 comparable
to previous 2750 signal.
